Escambia and Santa Rosa CERT Teams Assist at Fallen Deputy's Funeral

BRACE reached out to Escambia County CERT for volunteers to assist, along with Santa Rosa County CERT members, on October 26th to help honor a fallen Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Deputy at Zion Hope Primitive Church in Pensacola. Nine dedicated Escambia CERT members joined forces with six Santa Rosa CERT members to manage traffic flow, ensuring that police officers could attend the funeral without concern.

The team efficiently directed law enforcement vehicles, family members, and the public to designated parking areas, as well as lined up the vehicles for the funeral procession. A representative from Santa Rosa CERT said, “We would like to extend a special thank you to our friends in Escambia County CERT for their invaluable help.” The representative continued, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office during this difficult time. It was an honor to assist in any way we could.”

The collaboration between the two counties' CERT members reflects the strong bond and commitment to service shared by the neighboring counties in times of need.
