Escambia CERT Helps Residents with Sandbag Distribution for Hurricane Prep.

On Monday, September 23, 2024, the BRACE organization reached out to the Escambia Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) for assistance with sandbag distribution. In Escambia County, residents are encouraged to bring their sandbags and shovels to receive free sand, ensuring their preparedness for potential weather events.

Recognizing that some individuals face physical limitations or other challenges, the Escambia CERT team stepped up to provide valuable support. Our dedicated volunteers worked diligently from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, assisting residents—particularly older individuals, widows, and first-time hurricane residents—with sandbagging. By filling over 1,000 sandbags, our team demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of our community.
